Last night’s new episode ‘Sweet Dee’s Dating a Retarded Person’ was an absolute riot. Not because of the main story with Sweet Dee, mind you, but because of the shenanigans it prompted when the gang tries to make a band. While Frank and Mac’s band, arguably Chemical Toilet or The Pecan Sandies (Picked by Frank because of its sexual connotations), was hysterical, mostly because Mac is just so freaking vain, (picking a guitar simply by how it looks on him) and Frank is so relentlessly out of touch, (coming on stage to drum in a faux beatles oufit) trying to convince Mac that they have to fool the parents into thinking the ‘Pecan Sandies’ are a sweet and innocent band to succeed and become rock stars, the award for funniest thing ever goes to Charlie and Dennis.
The real highlight of the episode last night was Charlie and Dennis’ Electric Dream Machine band that they both formed after being kicked out of Chemical Toilet. Charlie was kicked out for writing songs with lyrics that allude to being raped (Night Man), Dennis is kicked out for singing like Freddie Mercury and wearing Spandex. Yes, I had to capitalize that. But the song that Dennis and Charlie come up with at Charlie’s apartment after he’s been huffing copious amounts of paint is damn near the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on television. My husband and I rewinded it like three times and laughed til we cried. Enjoy!. For those who have never seen the show, Charlie’s the guy at the Keyboards and Dennis is the dude in the weird outfit. Holy shit I can’t get that song out of my head. Went to a buddy’s house to watch football on Sunday and we both sang that song over and over… Greatness.
